Childhood Innocence…

Do you remember the times when you were young…and used to roam around the city in one of the below mentioned?

Yes, nothing but our Karachi Buses!!

The Bees (20) Number bus from Clifton to Saddar…
The N from Korangi Road to Do-Talwar…|
The Safari to goto Tariq Road from Defence
Not to forget the W11 – the highest number of buses in Karachi!

Pakistani Bus

Pakistani Bus

Man… Does that feel Nostalgic…!!

Sitting in those “rungeen” busess , looking out of the window I used to pass commentaries on everything in this world – Dil he Dil main – as they say…

Looking at the wall chalkings like “Tahir Dawa Khaana”, “Chalo Chalo Nishtar Park Chalo!” I would think, Argh… Why do people do this!!! Why dont people fix it… I only get a Rs. 5 pocket money right now, but wait… Give me some time, when I have enough dough… the first thing I do is paint the city white!

Just a moment into the thought, I would witness a guy spraying red paint like substance (Pan) from his mouth all over the road as if he was competing with the world to make the roads Red from black…!

Arggh…..!!!

Deep Breath… And yet again, I will tell my self… Hey let me just grow up… I’ll compete in the elections to become the President and then would ban “Pan” from Pakistan!! Hurray… I would then smile on my “Khayali Pulao” of winning the battle of Pan in Pakistan!! Yahooo!!

And once again I’m woken from my day dream when apparently this guy carrying a file, well dressed – extra hard starched shirt with brown shoes, black belt, dark green tie, bright green shirt, blue trousers, golden cufflings gets into a fight with the Fare Collector over a ruppee…

It seemed to me he was probably going for a job interview in that overstuffed bus – 7:30am. I could imagine what this guy was going through…! Last night, he probably made all the preparations; starching, borrowing stuff, polishing his shoes and all the crap for this Job interview… Now he gets to stand in this over-cramped bus with everyone’s personal parts touching him and obviously his personal parts getting to meet everyone else in the bus! Yikes….

He then gets to hear from the Collector that the Fuel Prices just went up last night and hence the fares have been revised from Rs. 5 to Rs. 6… The Tax Collector obviously doesn’t have the approved revision in the fare as yet… But why waste the opportunity!

That’s just where my creative, emotional & rational senses start working again. I’m back on the President’s Seat… I’ve already chalked out my plan to revolutionize the transport system in Pakistan. I will make the entire transport system “Free”!! I’ll buy out these jazzy buses and burn them off… Then would have these ultra modern Daewoo type buses… probably a million buses for Karachi alone! All drivers on the governments Payroll… Fuel, by the gov too!

And best of all…

No more polished shoes to be ruined with everyone’s footprint and of-course no more private parts touching everyone legs, hands & stomachs!

Just then… the collector shouts…

“Aaajao bhai Do-Talwar waley… Jaldi aajao bhai gate par”

I wake up from my thoughts and rush for the gate… So helpless.. I shout, Rokoo Rokoo!

Back to blogging?

It’s been a while I scribbled on this wall… as I write,  I now wonder, what is it that kept me away for so long.. or rather what is it that brings me back?

The feeling that my opinions can make a difference in this world?

Well, not exactly i’d say! My blogging won’t plug this recession in a snap nor will it stop Zardari from driving his agenda! One thing it can let me do is, let me say HECK NO! Without giving a hoot!

One thing that’s wierd & funny about this whole thing is the amount of time i’ve spent away from this favourite past time activity.

I think i’ll have to re-learn this whole business!

If i recall correctly, It started as a self ego building activity back in 2004 and I saw many great bloggers come & go till I myself accepted the fact that  “I’ve quit!” back in 2005!

Lot’s changed since then!

- In my life I now have the most beautiful woman there can be!
- No longer am I surviving on stipends & pocket money’s!
- For the longest time ever I haven’t disassembled any gadgets or software!
- I sell soap for a living!

And like history, this blog doesnt have to discuss “my life”!
Looking forward to a happy blogging season :)
